CQtober2024 - Seam 12, Combined Chevron & Herringbone Stitches
#cqtober2024 Seam 12 is a combined stitch using herringbone and chevron stitch, embellished with straight stitch triads! I haven't stitched one of these in a while. I used it on a long seam, that crossed over another seam. It had its challenges! I used a beigy grey for the herringbone stitch. We used it on the straight stitch triads on a previous seam. It looks almost white against the dark brown and turned out a bit brighter than I anticipated. The chevron was stitched in a variegated green and brown thread, that turned out to be more brown than green when stitched. It all worked out! The orange triads helped brighten it up. The most challenging part was making the seam look continuous where it crossed "under" the previous seam. I had to take part of it out and redo it. Now I'm happy with how it looks! Happy Stitching!
