CQtober or is it CQvember now? Seam 17, Combo Herringbone and Cretan Stitch
#CQtober2024 I got a little behind on both videos and blogposts, and am doing my best to get caught up! I've had the opportunity to work quite a lot the past couple of weeks, which I'm deeply grateful for! But it doesn't mean that I don't have time for editing and posting! This is another combination stitch! This time I stitched herringbone and cretan stitch, overlaying them and adding knotted lazy daisies for interest. I didn't realize when I decided to stitch this seam, that I was stitching right next to another combination stitch. But it really was the best spot for it, so I needed to make them unique from one another. I accomplished that by stitching a large herringbone, and then a smaller shallow cretan stitch over it. Adding the knotted lazy daisies instead of straight stitches also helped! The colors of this seam were a bit brighter as well, and that helped bring the entire piece into balance as some of the seams have been a bit duller lately. I
